Making an AI Game from Scratch (01. Preparation)
One day, an idea suddenly occurs to you: could I make a game from scratch with AI?
One day, I started making my own game.
This is the workflow I use to make a game with AI.
First, use AI to get a rough sense of what needs to happen next.
Use a reasonably priced AI for this learning phase. Save your primary model for the work that follows.
You: I want to make a game from scratch that can be released on Steam. How should I begin?
AI: ...
AI: Keep the initial goal small. Do not start with an open world or a AAA game.
This time, though, we are taking on a bigger challenge: a 4A game with AI code, AI art, AI music, and AI animation.
Next, we need to understand what parts make up a game.
We can use AI for that too.
You: What are the elements of a complete game?
AI: Core gameplay, content and structure, narrative and worldbuilding, art and sound, and systems.
AI: ...
AI’s answer gives us a picture of a game’s core elements.
Next, we use those elements to have AI produce a game outline.
